Hyderabad International Convention Centre Expansion

With Hyderabad emerging as a major global destination for international conferences, exhibitions, and business events, the expansion of the Hyderabad International Convention Centre was undertaken to meet growing demand for world-class event infrastructure. The project aimed to enhance capacity, improve visitor experience, and support the city’s position as a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) hub in South Asia.

Project Description

The Hyderabad International Convention Centre Expansion focused on extending the existing convention facilities with new exhibition halls, conference spaces, and supporting infrastructure. The expansion was designed to accommodate larger international events, high-profile summits, and multi-format exhibitions while maintaining seamless integration with the existing operational facilities.

The project involved complex construction planning to ensure uninterrupted operations of the live convention centre during execution. Emphasis was placed on architectural excellence, structural efficiency, and modern building services to meet international standards for safety, comfort, and functionality.

JG Building Group played a key role in delivering critical construction and infrastructure components that supported the expansion’s technical and operational requirements.

Scope of Involvement for JG Building Group

JG Building Group was entrusted with executing major civil, structural, and infrastructure works as part of the HICC Expansion, ensuring high-quality delivery while coordinating closely with stakeholders to minimize disruption to ongoing events.

  • Construction of additional convention halls, exhibition spaces, pre-function areas, and structural extensions integrated with the existing facility.

  • Execution of reinforced concrete and structural steel works for large-span halls, column-free spaces, and roof support systems.

  • Development of internal circulation areas including foyers, service corridors, loading docks, and back-of-house facilities.

  • Civil coordination support for MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, fire protection, and audio-visual infrastructure.

  • Construction of external development works such as access roads, drop-off zones, parking areas, pedestrian pathways, and landscaping.

  • Implementation of safety management systems, quality control processes, and compliance with national building codes and international event-facility standards.

  • Execution of phased construction to ensure continuity of convention centre operations during the expansion period.
