Established in 1984 as J&G Acoustical Company in the basement of founder James Dorman, the company began serving Delaware area contractors by providing acoustical work for state, federal and private construction projects. The initial founders, Jim and George; the origin of our name J&G; were awarded their first contracts based on their reputable carpentry skills within the Delaware construction community, often times sealed with only a handshake.
That foundation of knowledge, skill, and integrity remains. In 1998, with the succession of the business to second generation ownership, Gladys King and Paul King expanded the company’s services to include carpentry, drywall, metal studs and Division 10 specialties. With the expansion, we changed the company’s name to J&G Building Group to encompass all of its contracting services.
J&G is dedicated to servicing the needs of our clients, the construction manager, in order to ensure a successful project for the owner. We know the importance of providing quality workmanship within the constraints of construction schedules. Our team of carpenters are skilled tradesmen who take pride in their work and strive to complete each project professionally and on time. We also understand the intricacies of today’s project management and are continually evolving to successfully meet each projects criterion.
